How We Die by Sherwin Nuland

how we dieI really like this book because it explores the science behind the myriad ways the human body enters the paths to death.  How “the end” affects the families; what happens to the body systems of the individual him/herself.  “How We Die” is written for the lay-person’s understanding.  What preparations are available to those of us who reach the end & want our wishes about that subject carried out?  Dr. Nuland answers that question by the examples he gives.  This is only one of the books available in preparation for  the Goshen Public Library’s program in April:  “Death On Your Own Terms; Making Sense of End-of-Life Planning” by Thomas Robey, MD, PhD, Emergency Physician and Ethics Consultant.
